Why Set Up A Fund
With Us

The Long-Term Approach

While we applaud all those who make annual contributions or provide major gifts to nonprofits, our approach focuses on the community’s long-term needs.

A direct donation -- however generous it may be – will eventually be spent by the nonprofit (unless it is a contribution to that organization’s endowment).

We exist to ensure that Southeastern Pennsylvania nonprofits -- and the causes that matter to our donors -- have financial resources that can sustain them over time.

Thanks to investment growth, many of our funds have distributed more than the amount for which they were established, and will continue to fund students, nonprofits and causes far into the future.

In this way, we ensure that the money you have spent a lifetime accumulating has the maximum impact -- and that your legacy endures.

Services For Fund Holders

We work closely with those who have established funds with us to help them achieve their philanthropic goals.

Among our specific services:

  • Facilitating family giving
  • Research about the impact of individual nonprofits to help guide your giving
  • Arranging visits to effective nonprofits
  • Hosting events where you can meet like-minded donors

It is more difficult to give money away intelligently than to earn it in the first place.”

- Andrew Carnegie, in The Gospel of Wealth, 1889

Tax Advantages

Because we are a charitable organization, you receive tax savings on the assets used to set up your fund. More >

In addition, your friends and family can deduct what they contribute to support your fund.

You may also establish a Charitable Gift Annuity that provides you with lifetime income (some of which is tax-free) and later supports a fund that helps your favorite nonprofit or a cause that matters to you.
