2012 Financial Report to the Community
After matching donors’ intents with the needs of the community and performing due diligence on the recipient organizations, we awarded 1,786 grants and scholarships totaling more than $24.6 million to 1,061 community organizations.
The discretionary funds available for The Foundation’s staff to grant to nonprofits that serve the region’s most vulnerable populations provided much needed General Operating Support and funding to strengthen their overall operations.
Grants made through donor funds supported nonprofit organizations in such areas as the arts, community development, diversity, education, health and social services for our region.
Stewardship of Assets
The Philadelphia Foundation’s asset base increased in 2012 – up 9.6% to $334 million as of Dec. 31, 2012.
