Philadelphia Foundation Announces Spring 2024 Grant Cycle

For Immediate Release:  February 9, 2024

Philadelphia, PA – Philadelphia Foundation is excited to announce details of our Spring 2024 competitive grant cycle, which includes grant opportunities in the following categories:  Advocacy Unrestricted, Direct Service, Fund for Children, Impact, Leadership as well as GSK IMPACT, The Nessa Forman, David Forman, Eleanor and Solomon Forman Family Fund, and the Henrietta Tower Wurts grant opportunities.

“To better align prospective grantees with the grant categories where they stand the greatest chance of success, we have made some minor changes to our traditional process,” stated Leanne Ayers, Director of Grants and Programs.  “These changes will also help us better connect donors with charitable funds at the Philadelphia Foundation to nonprofits across the region.  All grant categories, requirements and funding levels remain the same as in prior years. Our hope is that these minor changes create less work for prospective grantees, better position applicants for success and provide clarity on grant eligibility, especially for those organizations considering applying for competitive and/or special initiative grants.”

Philadelphia Foundation has broken its traditional process into two easy steps:

Step 1: Basic Information– Applicants enter and upload basic information about their organization. This information previously comprised the first half of our application.

Our team will then review your organization’s information and invite you to apply for grants in the category(ies) where your application will be most competitive.

This process will open on February 9, 2024 and close on March 1, 2024.

The goal here is to reduce duplicate data entry and to allow our team to make informed decisions on the grant category in which your organization stands the best chance of success.

Step 2: Application Questions -The invitation received following step one will include a link to the second part of the application. This is essentially the second half of our traditional application.

All data entered in Step 1 will be pre-populated and grant seekers can rest assured that you are applying in an eligible category where you have the best chance to receive funding.

This part of the process will open on March 8, 2024 and close on March 29, 2024.

An informational webinar is scheduled for Thursday, Feb 15, 2024 at 11:00 a.m.  During this webinar, Philadelphia Foundation staff will provide information and answer questions about the Spring 2024 grant cycle.

Note:  Timing on opportunities for Philadelphia Foundation’s other grant categories, including Art Works, Black Community Leaders Fund, Brook J. Lenfest Foundation, and the Philadelphia District Attorney’s Office Forfeiture Fund will be announced later this spring.
