How we can help you

Professional advisors who have partnered with the Philadelphia Foundation cite many advantages, both for their clients and their practice.

Laura N. Solomon

Founder of Laura Solomon, Esq. & Associates

Laura Solomon often works with individuals and nonprofit clients to assist them in establishing Donor Advised and other funds at The Philadelphia Foundation. Among the funds she has established are those supporting All Riders Up, Canine Partners for Life and the Joseph Jocilino Gaskill Education Fund, which supports students with schizophrenia.

She also was instrumental in transitioning a family foundation, The Wright Hayre Foundation, to a Donor Advised Fund at the Philadelphia Foundation. As is common with many small foundations, the administrative duties associated with managing a private foundation had become cumbersome for the family. Establishing a Donor Advised Fund allowed the family to continue making grants supporting education in honor of Ruth Wright Hayre, former president of the Philadelphia School Board.

What she says about the Philadelphia Foundation:

“The Philadelphia Foundation is an incredible resource for the greater Philadelphia nonprofit community. I frequently turn to the Foundation’s staff and rely on their services. The Foundation has valuable resources for charitable individuals to help fulfill philanthropic goals. My nonprofit organization clients also find efficient and effective options at the Foundation to further their charitable missions.”

Richard Fox

Partner, Buchanan, Ingersoll & Rooney, P.C.

Richard Fox has helped his clients set up many funds at The Philadelphia Foundation, including those that promote health regionally as well as internationally. In 2009, he worked to establish the Huntington Hospital Charitable Fund, a Donor Advised Fund which allowed trust dollars set aside after the hospital’s closing to continue to be distributed as originally intended.

Fox also was instrumental in designing the structures and gifts by which Gerry Lenfest created the Lenfest Institute of Journalism at the Philadelphia Foundation.

What he says about The Philadelphia Foundation

“I have found the work I do with The Philadelphia Foundation to be a rewarding and efficient way to help my clients have a major impact on a broad spectrum of causes. I would encourage my colleagues to take advantage of the wonderful range of services and opportunities the Foundation has to offer.”
