$370,000 Awarded to Local Organizations Supporting Elder Victims of Crime Through the 2024 Philadelphia District Attorney Forfeiture Fund
Supporting Community-Based Nonprofits
Philadelphia Foundation, a leading driver of philanthropic impact in the Greater Philadelphia region for over a century, announced in partnership with District Attorney Larry Krasner, that $370,000 in violence prevention grants has been awarded to 11 community-based 501(c)(3) organizations that focus on Philadelphia seniors who have been impacted by violence and other crimes.
“We are proud to partner with the Philadelphia District Attorney’s Office in supporting community organizations that focus on seniors impacted by violence and crime. This round of grants will make a significant difference in the lives of our elderly population, who are often overlooked in violence prevention efforts,” said Leann Ayers, Director of Grants and Programs at Philadelphia Foundation. “By investing in these 11 diverse organizations, we are not only addressing immediate needs but supporting these organizations in building stronger, more resilient communities for all Philadelphians. For over a century, Philadelphia Foundation has remained dedicated to fostering innovative, community-driven solutions and creating lasting positive change throughout Greater Philadelphia.”
The awardees are as follows:
- Cambodian Association of Greater Philadelphia (CAGP) is awarded $25,000.
- Center for Advocacy for the Rights and Interests of the Elderly (CARIE) is awarded $25,000.
- Empowered Community Development is awarded $25,000.
- Face to Face is awarded $20,000.
- First Stop Recovery is awarded $50,000.
- Mill Creek Advisory Council is awarded $20,000.
- Overbrook West Neighbors is awarded $50,000.
- Potter’s House Mission is awarded $50,000.
- Rising Hope for Change (RHFC) is awarded $30,000.
- Southeast Asian Mutual Assistance Association Coalition (SEAMAAC) is awarded $25,000.
- SeniorLAW Center is awarded $50,000.
In partnership with Philadelphia District Attorney’s Office Violence Prevention Grant Program, Philadelphia Foundation has assisted in awarding over $4 million to community-based nonprofits working to address the root causes of violence since the program’s inception in May 2021.
These investments have assisted countless nonprofits in improving the lives of those in their communities. Philadelphia Foundation remains dedicated to making long-term positive impacts throughout Greater Philadelphia.
